The management for 18 months had ‚forgotten' to keep the paintings insured, and often the phone is out of order due to unpaid bills.   They sell postcards depicting portraits of pigs done by a local artist in a Warholesque manner or photomontages showing Warhol on the town's main street. In addition the museum sells clay reliefs with portraits of the pope or of Andy Warhol. Just a very few tourists find their way to Medzilaborce, thus the number of visitors to the only Andy Warhol museum in Europe is miniscule. The director is proud anyway: ‚If you relate the number of visitors to the town's population we're more successful than our colleagues in Pittsburgh.' Despite it all the museum is very popular among the town's youth who are riding skateboards around the concrete Campbell's cans set up right in front of it.
